Pamela J. Askey, 65, of Sigel, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025 while at Clarion Hospital.
Born on June 14, 1960 in Waconia Minnesota, she was the daughter of Stanley and Theda Olyer Maas.
She was a 1978 graduate of Waconia High School and continued her education by obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Missiology and Bible at Saint Paul Bible College (now Crown College) St Bonifacius MN and a Master of Divinity Degree at Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack NY.
She is survived by her husband Donald Askey, whom she married on August 22, 1998 at Community Alliance Church in Butler PA.
Mrs. Askey above all valued her life in the ministry serving the Lord in the Church, short term missions in the Philippines and Envision Atlanta, missionary candidate, an official worker of the CMA, as a homemaker, cooking, gardening, canning, singing, playing several instruments, camels, and homeschooling her children, serving in the Bronx, Tacoma, Butler and Brookville.
Her memberships included Brookville Alliance Church serving as Deaconess; she was a board member of Mahaffey Camp and Conference Center, member of 4-H Jefferson County Renegade Riders and member of 4-H Jefferson and Butler County Robotics, a member of Butler Alliance Women, a Home School Teacher and Coordinator, Secretary for the Constitutional Republicans of Western PA and Eldred TWP election minority inspector.
In addition to her husband, Donald, she is survived by her son, Thomas Askey; her daughters, Ruth and Rebekah Askey; her brothers, Richard (Jolene Berg) Maas, Stanley “Edward” (Kathy) Maas, David (Ann) Maas and Mark (Teresa) Maas; her sisters, Margaret (Randy) Florek, her twin sister Patricia (James) Polk, Mary (Nicholas) Gill, and Debora (Todd) Willsey; her sister-in-law, Becky (John) Maas; and her in-laws, Alvin and Carol Askey.
Those preceding her in death in addition to her parents are her brother, John Maas; a nephew, Daniel Polk; and aniece, Hannah Willsey.
Her family will receive friends on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 12:30-2PM at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way, Butler, PA. and from 6-8PM at Brookville Alliance Church, 59 Stone Road, Brookville, PA.
Interment with graveside committal service will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Brockport Cemetery, Brockport, Elk County with Rev. J. Ray Baker, presiding.
Additionally friends will be received from 1-2PM on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church with a memorial service to follow at 2PM with the Reverends James Polk and Richard “Dick” Jenks,officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Mahaffey Camp and Conference Center.
