Pastor Henry Scoff

Oliver “Pastor Henry” Scoff, 71, of Brookville, died unexpectedly at Penn Highlands Brookville on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on April 28, 1952 in Mount Pleasant, PA., he is the son of the late Oliver Henry and Peggy Thomas Scoff.

He was a graduate of Southmoreland High School and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Christian Education and Bible Studies from Gulf Coast Bible College.

He proudly and honorably served his country in the US Army achieving the rank of Spec-4.

On August 10, 1974 in Connellsville, PA., he married the former Debra Luft. She survives.

Henry began his ministry serving as Senior Pastor at First Church of God in Yale, OK, Park Hill Church of God in West Freedom, PA, and Shartel Church of God in Oklahoma City, OK. After 40 years in full-time ministry; on August 28, 2022, he retired from Brookville Church of God after spending nearly 25 years serving that congregation with love and care.

His interests included Preaching the Word of God, helping people grow in Christ, biblical mentoring, reading, journaling, archery, hunting, traveling, exercising, and Sharing Life with those he LOVED.

Himself beloved by many, knowing him as Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Pastor, Friend, but most importantly, Child of God.  Those touched by his life and ministry understood his legacy and recognized “A Life Well Lived”.

Those surviving in addition to his wife, Debra, are his son, David Scoff; his daughters, Becky (Rob) Mohr and Heather (Chris) Campbell; his grandchildren, Isaiah Campbell, Samuel Campbell, Michaela Mohr, Sade Campbell, Taylor Mohr, Lillyanna Campbell and Claire Mohr; his brother, Paul (Rose) Scoff; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters; Victoria Shreve, Susan Scoff and Myrna Piper.

His family will receive friends on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 5-8PM at Brookville Church of God, 201 Freedom Lane, Brookville, PA. An additional hour of visiting prior to the funeral service will be held from 10-11AM Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the church.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 11AM at Brookville Church of God, with his sons-in-law presiding, Pastors Rob Mohr and Chris Campbell.

Military honors will be rendered by the Brookville Honor Guard at the time of the funeral service.
