Richard Dinger Obituary

Richard “Dick” Dinger, 74, of Sigel, died Saturday afternoon, April 9, 2022 at home with his family at his side.

Born September 21, 1947 in Grove City, he was the son of the late Herman and Ethel Hankinson Dinger.

He was a graduate of Brookville High School, attended Brookville Assembly of God and was a member of the VFW.

Mr. Dinger proudly served his country in the US Army obtaining the rank of E6, prior to being honorably discharged in 1970.

On August 27, 1971 at the Assembly of God in Brookville he married the former Sherry Fulton. She survives.

Retiring in 2015 he spent much of his working career driving truck. He drove over the road for many years and in the past he worked for Molnar Trucking, as well as driving tanker for TA Truckstop.

In his leisure time he loved boating and fishing from his Pontoon boat with family and friends.

Those surviving in addition to his wife, Sherry, are his daughters, Monica (Larry) McAninch and Jaclyn Gordan; his brothers, William (Sara) Dinger and Herman Dinger, Jr., his sister, Beverly Dinger; his grandchildren, Devin McAninch, Adam McAninch and Stephanie Gordan; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. All of whom he ADORED!

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Dinger; and his sisters, Kathryn Smith, Lucille Hopper, Mabel Taylor and Betty McLaughlin.

His family will receive friends on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 10-11AM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11AM, also at funeral home with Pastor John Thomas, officiating.

Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at St. John’s/Windyhill Cemetery, Jefferson County.
