Richard D. McAfoose, 89, of Sligo, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Jefferson Manor.
Born on October 19, 1936 in Clarington, he was the son of the late George and Anna Lanchener McAfoose.
He proudly and honorably served his country as a reservist in the U.S. Army.
He married Ruby M. McAfoose. She survives.
Prior to his retirement he had been employed by Glenn Sand and Gravel and The Mushroom Company as a truck driver.
He was of Baptist faith.
His pat times included carpentry and gardening.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Richard McAfoose; his grandchildren, Angie, Jason and Ricky; his great grandchildren, Caroline, Noran and Eloise; and his brothers, Ray, Harold and Floyd McAfoose.
Those preceding him in death in addition to his parents are his first wife, Mildred J. McAfoose; his daughter, Karrie McAfoose; as well as several siblings.
Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. was honored to have been entrusted with providing the final arrangements for Mr. McAfoose.
