Richard W. Stephens

Richard W. “Rick” Stephens, 66, of Brookville, died Friday, March 15, 2024 at his home following an illness. 

Born August 22, 1957 in Brookville, he was the son of Robert and Rose Goodman Stephens.

He was a graduate of Brookville High School.

On June 4, 1982 he married the former Doretha Jones. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2023.

He retired in 2021 from AGX trucking, he worked prior to that at Beverage Aire for many years.

He was a member of Brookville Church of God and Friends of the Flag, where he served as Chairman for 27 years; he was also a member of Freedom Riders and President of Clarion County ABATE. Rick was a STRONG advocate against PA Helmet Laws which he spent time in Harrisburg lobbying against.

His pastimes included hunting, fishing, shooting, golfing, riding Harleys, woodworking, gardening; he was an avid gun collector and spending time with family. 

Those surviving are his daughter, Rikki Stephens; his father, Robert Stephens; his brothers, Robert (Jill) Stephens, Gary (Darla) Stephens and Jeff Stephens; his sister, Rosemary McEntire; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doretha Stephens and mother, Rose Stephens.

At Rick’s request in lieu of flowers all memorial donations may be sent to either Friends of the Flag or Truth in Nature.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 4-6PM at First Church of God, 201 Freedom Lane, Brookville, PA.

A funeral service will follow at 6PM with Pastor Sam Wilson, officiating.
