Richard Wood

Richard E. “Rich” Wood, Jr., 54, of Brockway, died at his home on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 following a courage battle with cancer.

Born February 2, 1969 in Olean, NY, he was the son of the late Richard E. Wood, Sr. and Sally Ratzel Rowley.

He was a graduate of Jeff Tech High School and worked as a truck driver.

On December 15, 2012 in Brockway, he married the former Sarah Brown. She survives.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Those surviving in addition to his mother and wife are his step father, Harry Clark; his son, Mason Wood; his brother, Dale (Jami) Wood; his sisters, Andrea (John) Barr, Penny Dibble, Tina Dewe, Wendy Boser and Anna Howard; his brother-in-law, Billy Brown; his sister-in-law, Amber (Doug) Myers; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his step mother, Carol Dibble; his grandparents; Fredrick Ratzel, Elsie Ratzel, Wilbur Clark and Ada Clark; as well as his niece, Megan Wood.

His family has entrusted Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA with the final arrangements for Mr. Wood.

Memorial donation may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Falls Creek Eagles Club, 189 Jefferson Ave., Falls Creek, PA. from 2PM-?. His family would like to extend an invitation to a” Potluck Dinner” to those attending and a request to bring a covered dish to share if you are able.
