Richard H. Yeany, 92, of Summerville, passed away late Friday, April 3, 2026, following a period of declining health.
Born July 26, 1933 at his family’s farm, Chestnut Ridge Farm on Settlers Road, he was the son of the late Harold and Rosie Himes Yeany.
He was a graduate of Summerville High School.
He was a member of Pleasant Hill Bible Church, where he served as a Trustee and the Sunday School Superintendent for 18 years.
His pastimes included hunting and volunteering for the Summerville Fire Department.
Richard spent his entire life living and working the family farm and worked as well as a Supervisor for ALLTEL until retirement.
His survivors include his sister, Elaine Armagost; and his nephew and niece, Tom (Sue) Armagost, of Parks Township, and Jackie (Dave) Baum, of Kittanning, (who were his caregivers and cared for him in his home); many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; his daughter, Joyce; 2 grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Beverly Yeany.
In addition to his parents he was preceded by two brothers, Paul and Charles; and a very special cousin, Willis Yeany.
His family will receive friends on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10AM-12PM with a service following at 12PM at Pleasant Hill Bible Church.
Interment will be at Westview Cemetery, Clover TWP, Jefferson County.
