Robert G. “Bob” Cable, 78, of Brookville died Saturday, August 2, 2025.
Born on August 3, 1946, he was the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth Snyder Cable.
He was a 1964 graduate of Brookville Area High School.
Mr. Cable proudly and honorably served his county during the Vietnam Conflict with the U.S. Navy.
Prior to his retirement he was the owner of R.G. Cable Excavating, as well as being a certified electrician and a former Oliver Township Supervisor.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling, cooking and was a licensed private plane pilot.
His survivors include his brother, Steven Cable; his sisters, Karen (Keith) Clinger and Dawn Gillung; as well as multiple extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joey VanSteenberg; his daughter, Kylee Cable; his brother, Ricky Cable; as well as his sister, Sherry Altemus.
Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Cable.
There will be no services held at this time.
Interment will be at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Sigel, Jefferson County.
