Robert “Matt” M. Smith

Robert M. “Matt” Smith, 64, of Brookville died Monday, June 24, 2024 at his home of natural causes.

Born November 27, 1959 in Indiana, Pa., he was the son of the late Robert A. and Sally Ake Smith.

He graduated from Dayton High School. 

Matt proudly and honorably served his country with the U.S. Navy.

He worked for Trail King and Matson Lumber.

His pastimes included fishing, being outdoors, cooking and spending time with his son Tanner.Those surviving are his son, Tanner Smith; his step mother, Phyllis Smith-Ankeny; his brothers, Dan (Mollie) Smith and Phillip (Carol) Smith; his sister, Stacey Smith; and step sister, Cindy Skinner and Matt's best friend and Tanner's mom, Kelly Shaffer Cook.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Julia Smith and step brother, Mike Mottern.

Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Smith.
