Rodney Edward “Boo” Troup, 55, of New Bethlehem, passed away on June 1, 2026, at Clarion Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Clarion, Pennsylvania. Born March 26, 1971, in Brookville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Robert Troup and Rose Faulkner of Clarion. Boo was a man who found joy in the things he loved most—time spent with family, the outdoors, and the hobbies that brought him happiness throughout his life. Of all the things he enjoyed, nothing meant more to him than his grandchildren. He loved watching them grow, celebrating their accomplishments, and seeing their unique personalities shine. His grandchildren—Mariah Troup, Abel Troup, and Amara Troup of Oak Ridge, and Jacey Greenawalt of New Bethlehem—brought him endless pride, laughter, and love. They kept him on his toes, made him laugh, and occasionally drove him crazy, but they were truly the light of his world. Boo is survived by his son, Tyler Troup of Oak Ridge; Jessica Booser of New Bethlehem, whom he loved as a daughter; his brother, Raymond Troup and wife Paulette of Sligo; his beloved grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many family members and friends who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Troup, and his sister, Theresa Faulkner. Boo enjoyed hunting and fishing, collecting movie memorabilia and figurines, playing video games, watching westerns, and listening to rock music. Whether sharing a favorite movie, telling a story, or enjoying the simple comforts of home, he found happiness in the little things and in the people around him. Boo will be remembered for his love of family, his sense of humor, and the good times shared with those around him. His stories, laughter, and memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him best. In accordance with Boo’s wishes, he will be cremated and no formal services will be held. Arrangements are being entrusted to Furlong Funeral Home of Summerville, Pennsylvania. A private family gathering will be held at a later date to share memories and celebrate Boo’s life.
