Russell L. Reynolds, Jr., 72, of Summerville, PA., died early Sunday morning, May 15, 2022 at Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital.
Born November 15, 1949 in Bradford, he was the son of the late Russell L. Reynolds, Sr. and Glendora Coder Reynolds.
He was a 1969 graduate of Brookville High School and obtained a degree from Triangle Tech as an electrician.
Mr. Reynolds proudly served his country with the US Navy and continued to serve his comrades as a member of the Honor Guard of Jefferson County. He was presented the “It’s a Good Thing You Do” awarded by the House of Representatives. This award was given in acknowledgement of his civic endeavors and contribution to the well being of his community and all people of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
On November 9, 2002 in Warsaw he married the former Marilyn N. Walker. She survives.
Prior to his retirement he worked in the maintenance department at Truckstops of America in Brookville and Flying J.
He was of the Protestant faith and his other memberships included Brookville American Legion Post #102 where he held the position of commander for the post for 4 years and was a lifetime member of NRA.
His pastimes include hunting, fishing, woodworking and working on cars.
Those surviving in addition to his wife, Marilyn, are his sons, Christopher (Brandy) Reynolds, Jonathan (Heather) Reynolds, David (Michelle) Reynolds, Keith (Heather) Reynolds and Scott Reynolds; his daughter, Rebecca Chittester; his stepsons, Michael (Carlee Abramson) Schatz and Cameron (Teddi) Schatz; his step daughters, Jennifer (Jason) Brooks and Natalie (Dave) Deviney; his 29 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Johns Reynolds; and infant brother; his sisters, Sharon Brand and Carol Carr.
His family will receive friends at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 6-8PM.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11AM including a Military Honor service.
Interment will be at Temple Cemetery, Hazen.
