Ruth E. Brosius, 90, of Brockway died the afternoon of Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at her home following a period of declining health surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Brookville on March 20, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine Gardlock Mathers.
She was a member of the Gospel Center in Reynoldsville.
Ruth loved the Lord, cruises, traveling with her church group, Bingo, Southern Gospel Quartet Conventions and helping others. However her Greatest Love was being a Mom and being with her family.
Her survivors include two sons, Bill Brosius and Tom (Chris) Brosius; three daughters, Darlene (Donald) Withey, Patty (Tom) Reder and Velma Thurston; eight grandchildren, Michelle, Jim, Raymond, Jason, Joshua, Vanessa, Terrie Ann, and a special grandson that was always there for her, Michael; seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; a sister, Doris Marnati; special caregiver, Dunmininu Oladele; and her loving canine companion, Sophie.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 1PM at Reynoldsville Fire Hall.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation be made to either St. Jude’s or Shiner’s Children’s Hospital.
