Ruth V. Eckelberger

Ruth V. Eckelberger, 100, formerly of Emlenton, died Friday, July 12, 2024, while at Snyder Memorial Home in Marienville, PA.

Born August 7, 1923, in Venango County, she was the daughter of the late John and Lila Beryl Murray. 

She married Ronald E. Eckelberger, Sr., who preceded her in death on November 2, 1995. 

Prior to retirement she was employed as the head housekeeper at Ray’s Motel formally located in Shippenville, PA, and a dedicated homemaker.   

Ruth had a passion and love for horses that transcends mere words.  Her eyes would light up whenever she was near them, and when possible, her hands would immediately reach out to lovingly touch their velvety muzzles.  She enjoyed tending to her flowers and spending time with her daughter. 

Those surviving are her daughter, Ruth A. Eckelberger; her daughter-in-law, Judy Eckelberger; her grandchildren, Cheryl, Ronald, Richard, Aaron, Kirk, Neil, and Todd; four great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her sons, Ronald and Dennis; and grandchild, Marcy.

Furlong Funeral Home, 140 Cherry St., Marienville, PA. has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mrs. Eckelberger. 

A graveside memorial service and interment will be at 11AM Saturday, September 28, 2024 at  Cedarview Cemetery, Strattanville, Clarion County.
