Sandra (Sandy) Jean Myers went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 6, 2026 at The Ecumenical Home in Bradford, PA. She was born August 10, 1938 to Mabel Ewing Aharrah and Charles Aharrah . She grew up on the Aharrah family homestead and later at the family home at Edeburn Hill. She attended grade school at the Wallace School, Edeburn Hill and graduated from Sigel High School in 1956. Many of her classmates remained lifelong friends. Her first job was as a bookkeeper at DeMans in Brookville. In later years she worked at Jaguar Clothing in Smethport, the Lantz Corners Hotel and the US Census Bureau.
In 1956 she met a young sailor, Raymond Leroy Myers. They wed on June 20, 1958 at the E.U.B. church, Edeburn Hill and began 62 years of being inseparable. Sandra had a sweet, quiet spirit and excelled at caring for her family and providing hospitality to neighbors, church friends, missionaries and her children’s friends. Her home was the one with a yard full of bicycles and children at play. She was known for her wonderful dishes and baked goods, especially her pies and raisin filled cookies. Sandra was a member of The light on the Hill Global Methodist Church. She served her Lord as a nursery worker and teacher in younger years and in later years provided floral arrangements from her garden for the altar, helped with Over 50’s and funeral dinners. Sandra and her husband Ray were members of the Heath Township Sportsmens Club and for many years made cocoa and hundreds of fish sugar cookies for the children’s fishing derby. Sandra enjoyed traveling with her husband, gardening and giving away produce, reading, sewing, but most of all spending time with family.
Sandra is survived by her children; Sherri (Rick) Paytas, Vicki (Glen) Compton and Russ Myers; her sister, Kay Aharrah (Al Heselton), her bothers Larry Aharrah, and Sam (Ginny) Aharrah; sister-in-laws, Lyla Aharrah and Kathy Aharrah. She is survived by grandchildren: James (Tammie) Paytas, Allison Paytas, Joe Paytas, Mae (Daniel) Verheyden, Bethany (Tim) Piette and Clint (Kari) Compton; 13 adored great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
