Shirley J. Himes

Shirley “Shug” Himes, 60, of Brockway, died the morning of Friday, June 11, 2021 at UPMC Shadyside following a period of declining health.

Born in Brookville on August 2, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Jessie Deemer Shearer.

She was a graduate of Jeff Tech.

Shug enjoyed dolphins, Mt. Dew, a cigarette and time with her grandchildren.

Those surviving are a son, Paul (Tammy Shay) Himes; two daughters, April (Will) Conner and Elizabeth (Michael) Reed; five grandchildren, Devin, Brayden, Derek, Pheobe and Kayleigh; five brothers, Robert (Penny) Kunselman, Tom (Jan) Kunselman, Dave (Randi Bradfield), Kenny (Loraine Best) Kunselman, Jim (Luella) Kunselman and Don (Faith) Kunselman; a sister, Betty (Leroy) Rhines; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, two grandchildren, Amber and Gavin; her brothers, Raymond, John and Alonzo Kunselman; and her sister, Myra Hill preceded her in death.

Her family will receive friends on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 5-8PM and Monday, June 14, 2021 from 10-11AM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, Pa.  

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 11AM at the funeral home with Jennifer Chaffee, officiating.

Interment will be in Vandervort Cemetery, Clover Twp., Jefferson County.
