Shirley M. Rhodes, 74, of Brookville passed away Saturday morning, June 20, 2026 at McKinley Health Center following a period of declining health.
Born on June 5, 1952 in Brookville, she was the daughter of the late Berl and Mary Cartwright Hannold.
She was a graduate of Brookville high School.
On June 29, 1973 in Richardsville, she married Larry D. Rhodes. He preceded her in death.
Prior to retirement she had been employed as a seamstress at the Brookville Shirt Factory and at the T.A. Truck Stop.
In the past she had been a volunteer at the Heritage House and was a member of the Brookville Eagles.
She enjoyed reading, crafting, cross stitch, and sewing.
Her survivors include her daughter, Gina Rhodes; her brothers, Larry (Jean) Hannold and John Hannold; her sister, Gail (Jack) Carrier; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry “Bud” Rhodes, Jr. and her brother, Denny Hannold.
Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from 3–5PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA.
A funeral service will follow at 5PM at the funeral home withPastor James Fillhart, officiating.
Interment will be held privately at Riggs Cemetery, Warsaw TWP, Jefferson County.
