Thomas “Tom” Hetrick, 78, of Summerville, died Friday morning, May 16, 2025, while at McKinley Heath Center following a decline in his health.
Born in Summerville on June 16, 1946, he was the son of Jacob B. and Grace E. McAninich Hetrick.
He attended Summerville High School.
Prior to his retirement in 2001 he was employed by Jamestown Fabricated Steel in Jamestown, NY.
His pastimes included hunting, shell loading, being in the outdoors, photography and dirt track car races.
His survivors include his nephew, Robert “Erik” (Margo) Hetrick; his niece, Heidi (Scott) Blashaw; his two great nephews; as well as his sister-in-law, Deanne Geist.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother; Robert “Bob” Hetrick.
Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville has been entrusted with the final arrangement for Mr. Hetrick.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Interment will be in Carrier Cemetery, Clover Township, Jefferson County.
His family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made in his memory to Carrier Cemetery.
