William T. Delp, 86 (affectionately known to some as "Old Buzzard") of Brookville, formerly of Roseville died Friday, April 12, 2024 at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor following a period of declining health.
Born on December 13,1937 in Teagarden (Salem), Ohio, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Dora Stormer Delp.
He proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.
On May 7,1960 at the First Assembly of God in Brookville he married the former Janet Swonger. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2023.
He was formerly a member of the Brookville First Assembly of God.
Prior to his retirement he worked as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic.
His pastimes included hunting, fishing, gardening, working on cars and spending time with his family.
His survivors include his two daughters, Wanda (Brian) Butler and Lisa (Loren) Hoch; his grandchildren, Jennie (Greg) Hopper, Michelle (Norm) Byerly and Mark Butler; his great grandchildren, Luke (Taylor Miller) Hopper, Mathew (Lilly) Hopper, Bradley, Lynnzee, Linkin and Charleigh Byerly; his great great grandchildren, Veda Hopper and her soon expected sibling; his brothers, Gene (Cheryl) Delp and Dick (Mable) Delp; his sister, Ruth Weaver; his son-in-law, Will (Trudi) Radaker; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Those preceding him in death in addition to his parents and wife are his daughter, Sue Radaker; his brothers, Ken, Ralph and Al Delp; and his sister, Emmaline Lindenmuth.
Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Delp.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 2PM at which time military honors will be accorded by Brookville Honor Guard with interment in Roseville Cemetery, Union Township, Jefferson County.
