William W. ”Bill” Dinger, 91, of Mayport, died Wednesday, August 20, 2025 while at Jefferson Manor following a period of declining health.
Born on November 23, 1933 in Summerville, he was the son of the late Herman and Elizabeth McCarron Dinger.
On April 27, 1956 he married the former Sarah F. Lindemuth. She survives.
Prior to his retirement he worked at Crawford Furniture and as a truck driver.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and spending time on the front porch.
In addition to his wife he is sons, William Dinger, Kevin Dinger, Gregory (Sue) Dinger and Fred (Janet) Dinger; his daughters, Ruby (John) Watson and Melisa (Terry Beers; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his sister, Beverly Dinger.
Those preceding him in death in addition to his parents are his son, Harry Dinger; his daughter, Crystal Dinger Deemer; his brothers, Richard, Herman, Jr. and Harry Dinger; his sisters, Kathryn Smith, Lucille Hopper, Mabel Taylor and Betty McLaughlin.
His family will receive friends on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 12-2 PM and 4-6 PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA.
Interment will be at Vandervort Cemetery, Summerville PA.
An additional hour of visiting will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025 from10-11 AM prior to an 11AM funeral service with Mike Smith, officiating.
