William Schiafone Obituary

William “Bill” J. Schiafone, Jr., 53, of Summerville ran into the arms of Jesus, Sunday, February 15, 2026 at his home following an illness.

Born on July 8, 1972 in Ridgway, he was the son of William Schiafone, Sr. and Faye Eckborg Schiafone.

He was a graduate of Dubois Christian School and a member of Zion Church of Jefferson County.

On October 17, 2014 at Brookville Church of God, he married the former Erin Barkley. She survives.

At the time of his passing he was employed by SCI Forest as a Correction Officer, he was a member of the Critical Incident Stress Management Team.

Bill served as a constable in Elk County and until his illness he was a councilman for Summerville Borough.

He was an outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. But his greatest pastime was leading people to salvation by telling them about JESUS.

In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by his daughter, Ashley Schiafone; his step children, Sadie and Will Shofestall; his grandchildren, McKenna and Thea; his brother, Alan Schiafone; and his sisters, Linda Goss and Brenda (Richard)Deal.

His mother preceded him in death.

His family will receive friends at Roseville Independent Chapel, 3598 Rt. 322, Brookville, PA. on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 2-6PM.

A funeral service will follow at the church at 6PM with Pastor Jim Fillhart, officiating.

Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg, Elk County.

His family suggests memorial contributions be made in Bill’s memory to Prison Fellowship or Zion Church of Jefferson County.
