Wilma Steighner Obituary

Wilma M. Steighner, 89, of Brookville, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025 at her home following a period of declining health.

Born on November 29, 1935 in Warsaw TWP., she was the daughter of Scott and Mabel Mathers Smith.

In 1953 she married Elmer Irvine he preceded her in death in 1970. She later married Ronald Steighner he preceded her in death in 1996.

Prior to her retirement in 1998 she had worked as a cook at Laurel Haven Personal Care Home.

She was of Methodist faith. 

Her pastimes included quilting, watching westerns and reading books.

Her survivors include her daughters, Elanor Nichols, Glendora (David) Lindemuth, Eva (Wayne) Geist, Mary Sarvey and Lorri (Rodney) Allshouse; her 16 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren.

In addition to parents and husbands she was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Irvine; her grandson, Michael Sarvey; and her sons-in-law, Gerald Nichols and Jack Sarvey.

There will be no services held.

Interment will be in Temple Cemetery.
