Zane F. Zents, 59, of Brookville, died Thursday evening, April 14, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. He now rests pain free following a 2 year battle with Cancer.
Born in Brookville on September 11, 1962, he was the son of the late Francis and Elise Dinger Zents.
He was a 1980 graduate of Jeff Tech where he studied Graphic Arts.
He proudly served his country in both the US Army and the PA.National Guard. He and his brother, Tracy were fortunate enough to serve in the same unit at the same time.
On May 2, 2015 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville, he married the former Jacqueline Tomski. She survives.
He was a member of the Scotland Ave. Church of God in Punxsutawney and is a former member of the Brookville Fire Company. Zane, along with his brothers and father were the first family locally to all receive the 4th Degree Honor from the Knights of Columbus.
Zane worked for the many years with his father at Zents Brothers Construction, at Lowes for a time and retired from PennDOT.
In his free time he enjoyed riding motorcycle, traveling, golfing, and creating metal works and stained glass art.
His family and friends will remember him as a fun loving jokester and true friend to everyone.
Those surviving in addition to his wife, Jackie, are his brothers, Allen(Cindy) Zents, Felix(Susan) Zents, Victor(Denise) Zents and Tracy(Valerie) Zents; his children, Corey Zents, Misty(Liz) Ransom, Tia(Christopher) Hetrick; his grandchildren, Scarlet, Zina, Alexis, Eric, Brooklyn and Beau; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. has been entrusted with final arrangements for Mr. Zents.
His family is planning a “Celebration of Life” to be held at a later date at the Summerville Church of Christ.
